Dazzle Dry is a clean nail care system that dries in 5 minutes without any LED or UV light. It lasts up to 3 weeks, and it removes like a traditional polish.  Dazzle Dry delivers the performance of a gel polish without the harmful chemicals. This service must be requested at the time of booking, whether online or by phone.  Extended Wear Polish cannot be added to a polish change due to time constraints.

Booking

At The Water Room, we are committed to on-time, quality nail salon appointments. We provide better nail service when we know you’re coming, and we know what you want. As part of our nail salon experience, we offer online booking, which we highly encourage.  You can do that here. Walk-ins are always welcome, but not guaranteed. For all appointments booked online or by phone, a credit card will be required as per our cancellation policy.

Arrival

We encourage you to arrive 15 minutes prior to your nail appointment time, especially if you are a new client. We want you to have plenty of time to check in, use the bathroom, choose your polish color, and settle in for your appointment.  As a courtesy to all our clients, we adhere to a strict schedule, and if you are more than 5 minutes late to your appointment, your nail service may be shortened, or even canceled. You will still be responsible for the full-service fee of your originally scheduled appointment.

Cancellations / No Shows / Lateness

Our nail technicians are available every day for clients. And we reserve time on their schedule for your appointment. If you are late or do not come, we’ve missed an opportunity to serve another client. For this reason, we have a strict 12-hour cancellation policy. Cancellations within the 12-hour window will be charged the full fee for the service booked. No-shows will also be charged the full fee. We will do our best to accommodate clients arriving late, but it may result in a shortened or downgraded service based on time. However, the client will still be charged the fee for the service booked, as that is the time we held on the schedule. We do not accept downgraded service requests after the 12-hour window.

Products

At The Water Room, we only use polishes that are 8-free or better. That means that at a minimum, they are free of the 8 most toxic ingredients commonly found in most conventional nail polish: Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin, Camphor, Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP), Ethyl Tosylamide, Xylene, Triphenyl Phosphate (tphp) and “T” (Google won’t let us use the real name of this ingredient on our site – yes we are serious). (To learn more, click here.) We do not offer Acrylic, SNS Powder, Dip Gel, conventional gel services, or even conventional nail polish, our which creates cleaner air than other nail salons. All products used within our signature nail services are also expertly-vetted and pass the “Bare Beauty” test – to be clean of all toxic ingredients as well as cruelty-free, gluten-free and vegan.

Waterless Manicure

Yep! Our nails are alive, and they are very porous. Did you know that nails can absorb up to 25% of their weight in water in a single soak? During a typical manicure, each hand soaks for about 5 minutes, making nails softer, and even more porous, and then toxic products are applied one after another. If that sounds counterintuitive to you, we agree.  Also, if you ever wondered why your polish peels off so soon after a manicure, the water is probably to blame. Polish can’t fully adhere to a soft, “wet” nail. The Water Room’s nontoxic manicures and pedicures keep nails healthy from start to finish with nontoxic nail polishes and medical-grade nail salon procedures.

Sanitation

The Water Room takes sanitation seriously. We use freestanding pedicure bowls – the jets of whirlpool baths at typical nail salons are breeding grounds for bacteria – which are cleaned with hospital-grade disinfectants after each use. The Water Room uses all stainless steel tools (clippers, nippers, and pushers) and glass nail files are bagged in pouches with indicator strips and sterilized in an autoclave. (An autoclave is a piece of medical equipment that sterilizes metal and glass implements through the use of high temperatures and high-pressure steam. This process kills all bacteria, viruses, fungi, and spores.) Beware of nail salons that purchase the pouches but not the autoclave.  All non-metal tools, such as buffers and orange wood sticks, are single use.

Recycling

In some states, old nail polish is considered hazardous waste, and it is illegal to put it in the trash. We encourage our customers to bring in old nail polish bottles from any brand, and we’ll dispose of them through the proper channels. For every bottle you recycle with us, you will receive 10% off a new bottle of 5-free-or-better nail polish at The Water Room.

Glass Nail Files

Once you switch, you will never go back. Ordinary nail files create tiny fractures at the edge of the nail, which can weaken the nail and cause it to split, peel and chip. The Water Room exclusively uses  glass files, which are so hard and the filing surface so extremely fine- you can file in any direction without damaging the nail; it actually seals the layers of keratin together. Glass nail files can also be sanitized and sterilized, which make them one less thing we have to throw in the trash! Effective, pretty and eco-friendly.

Cuticle Care

Cuticles serve an important purpose! Cuticles protect nails from infection; when they are removed, the nail is left vulnerable to bacteria and fungus. Trimming or cutting live cuticles is done for aesthetic purposes only; this practice makes your cuticles grow back faster and fray more easily. At The Water Room, we push back the cuticle of the nail and only lightly trim hangnails and loose dead skin. Prices

Our prices are slightly higher than those at a typical nail salon, and we are happy to tell you why. First, The Water Room ’s nontoxic products cost more than conventional brands. We have carefully selected natural products that are free of cheap, synthetic filler ingredients that could harm your skin, nails, health, and the health of our employees. Second, we pay our employees fairly. These women work extremely hard, and we couldn’t meet our customers’ needs without them. They deserve a decent wage, a healthy environment, and respect for their skills. We proudly stand behind our ethos – and our prices.

Group Events + Private Bookings

Please book your nail service at least 2 weeks in advance so that we can accommodate your request. Groups of 4 or more require a 50% deposit, and 20% gratuity will be added at the completion of all services. Please note that a 48-hour cancellation policy applies to parties of 4 or more. We offer a private room for group events, including bachelorette parties, engagement parties, birthday events, & more. Call The Water Room for more information.

Salon Etiquette

At The Water Room, we strive for a quiet, spa-like atmosphere so that you – and everyone around you – can get the most out of precious “me-time”. We kindly ask that you use a quiet voice in the salon, and upon entering, you switch your phone ringer to silent or vibrate. Please refrain from talking on cell phones in our nail salon.

We love children, but for safety reasons, insurance purposes, and out of respect for other guests’ relaxation, no child under the age of 10 may accompany you or sit in the waiting area while you receive a service. Children 10 and under are only permitted in the salon if they are receiving a service. We also love animals, but unless it’s a service dog with an official “service animal” vest, you must leave your pets at home.

Gift Cards

The Water Room’s gift cards are not redeemable for cash and are valid for 12 months from the date of issue. Our gift cards cannot be used to secure nail salon appointments and cannot be exchanged for cash or other vouchers. Change will not be given, but the balance will remain on the card until its expiration date.

Gel Removal

While we do not offer conventional soft gel polish, we will happily soak it off for you!  However, please note that Soft Gel Removal is not included in any of our services. If you currently have soft gel polish, you will need to add Soft Gel Removal to your service at the time of booking, as this takes an additional 20-30 minutes. Otherwise, your service will be shortened to accommodate the removal. Acrylic, SNS Powder, and Dip Gel are not included, and we cannot remove these types of Gel, as this is a drill-free zone!

Dry Time

Because our polishes do not contain toxic ingredients that evaporate quickly, (like formaldehyde) they tend to dry a bit more slowly than conventional polishes.  Please note that while your nails may seem dry to the touch after your service, less toxic polish takes a full 12-24 hours to fully harden and cure.  Please be careful, and keep your feet free from shoes during that time to avoiding smudging.  Also, we are happy to grab your credit card, keys, phone out of your bag before you leave – just ask!

Flip Flops

To prevent waste, The Water Room does not supply foam or paper one-use pedicure slippers. We recommend you bring your own flip-flops or other toe-friendly shoes. However, if you forget or don’t have any, we offer a limited use rubber flip flop with non-slip soles for $5.  They are more comfortable than you might think!

Medical Needs

When making any salon appointments, or before your nail service, please let us know of any health conditions, such as pregnancy, injuries, allergies, special needs, ingrown toenails, etc. We can customize your nail appointment to meet your needs and ensure a safe nail salon experience with our clean beauty and nontoxic approach to nail care.

State Laws

We must refuse service to anyone who seems to have any kind of communicable foot, hand or skin disease. A licensee shall not perform services on a client if the licensee has reason to believe the client has an unhealthy condition; a communicable disease; contagious condition; skin or nail tissue that is inflamed, infected, broken, raised or swollen; or an open wound, ingrown toenail or sore in the area affected unless the client provides written authorization from a licensed physician.

We have the right to refuse service to anyone, at any time. This includes but is not limited to the usage of drugs, alcohol, sexual comments/remarks or any behavior that we feel is inappropriate. It is important to us that we maintain a safe atmosphere for both our employees and our clients.
